An Illustrated Guide to Shiromans
Shiroman
He is a boy ROMAN with a strong sense of justice who is always fighting for someone else. He believes that he has such a mission, but in reality, it is only because of pigeon he that has been riding on his hand that has made him feel this way. He himself still wants to be pampered by his parents. He is the leader of the other ROMANs, but as soon as he lets go of the cross, he becomes depressed, throws everything away, and gives up. In such cases, the pigeon usually scolds him and skillfully feeds him his favorite foods such as Amakusa Chanpon and kuruma shrimp tempura, to bring him back to his feet with a carrot-and-stick like strategy.
He tends to get pushed around by his fellow ROMANs and often fails to achieve his goals, he doesn't seem to mind that though. He feels a bond with his somewhat useless companions. Although there are some ROMANs among them who he has difficulty communicating with, he treats them all with a friendly attitude.
Despite appearances, there are actually quite a lot of things he likes and dislikes.
Nailed Roman
Out of curiosity, this ROMAN stuck a nail in his head which gave him extraordinary intelligence, however he became very opinionated. His thoughts are always racing and somehow he arrives at incredibly edgy conclusions which makes him difficult to understand. Only an intoxicated Beroberoman and a non-clown Pieroman are able to understand a trace of his thoughts.
As his intelligence increased, he became aware of all the truths of the world and despaired at the meaninglessness of everything, so he tried to remove the nail again, but it hurt a little so he decided not to remove it for now.
In fact, they often believe that they exist in someone else's painting.
Bae Roman
Although she herself is against it, she is a ROMAN who likes to be the center of attention. She used to live a quiet life out of the public eye, but one day, a distant relative who was a jeweler gave her a necklace made from the shell of an underground creature. When she put it on, it attracted the attention of many ROMANs, and she started to want to be the center of attention all the time.
For that reason, she always wears unusual and flashy jewelry and strives to always be at the forefront of fashion in ROMANs society.
Because she is extremely concerned about her appearance, she is extremely vulnerable to the cold stares and ridicule of Fake Smile, another ROMAN. On the days when she is ridiculed she becomes so depressed that she cannot recover, but she usually comforts herself by buying new accessories.
In reality, she has a sensitive heart and likes spending time alone.
Belo Beloman
This ROMAN is always drunk and staggering.
Although he often gets up to some outrageous acts while drunk which earns him the wrath of Shiroman and the others, there is something about him that makes him lovable. Even when he is in trouble he usually manages to survive with the help of someone.
He used to be a writer who wrote poetic satirical novels and was loved by a cult following, but once became addicted to alcohol after his masterpiece was mocked by Fake Smile, which shocked him.
He isn't really aware of it himself, but when he gets drunk the incoherent words that come out sometimes contain wise sayings that contain philosophical implications.
Piro Piroman
This ROMAN is a party-loving guy who is always playing a party horn. Having lived in the clubhouse since birth, he became a DJ before he knew it, but one day Shiroman came to the clubhouse and took pity on him. So he took him out, and they've been hanging out ever since. He's still not used to a world without music, and he can't take off his party hat and horn, so whenever he talks, the horn's call gets longer, so ROMANs who talk to him need to be careful about where they stand.
He's always looking for fun things to do, and is full of curiosity as he enjoys the outside world that he has never been exposed to before, but sometimes he gets into trouble for his friends by doing crazy, dangerous things or doing unnecessary things.
Actually, he's always loved classical music.
Omooka Roman
This ROMAN is always tied up, carrying the love of others. They are always asking someone to untie them, but when someone actually tries to untie them, they ask why they are doing such a thing and run off somewhere.
He has a special affection for Shiroman and is always trying to get his attention, but is usually unsuccessful because Gambaroman always comes first to encourage him.
Because he normally carries the heavy burden of love, when the string is cut he exerts more power than anyone else, as if he has been liberated from a demon, and at that moment Shiroman respects him, but he is still restless and carrying the weight of love.
The strings on your hands are actually elastic and can be untied by himself if he wants to.
Ghost Roman
This ROMAN tends to withdraw and became a dinosaur by constantly exploring their inner self. The other ROMANs didn't think anything of him, but he felt that people around him thought he was ugly, so he always kept his distance from the other ROMANs. However, he doesn't mind listening to people's stories, and he often listens to the stories of the talkative Shiroman and Belo-Belroman, and the other ROMANs also secretly talk about their daily frustrations, so he is considered a great counselor by his peers, but he doesn't know this, so when he occasionally musters up the courage to speak up when everyone is talking, he is surprised that they are actually listening to him.
Although he wishes to overcome his shyness and become more sociable, those around him actually need him the way he is most.
Pieroman
This ROMAN is a joker who is always making fun of the inherent complexes that other ROMANs have. He makes people laugh and angers those he mocks, but recently there has been a trend within ROMANs society that people have to laugh even when they are mocked by him, and many ROMANS put on a smile even though they are hurt.
In reality, he plays the clown as a way of resisting the pressure to conform in society, but he feels extremely shocked that his own actions have created such a trend.
When he's not a clown, he is a very serious thinker, and his actions as a clown are based on those thoughts. He has discussions with Nailed Roman and has a high regard for him, but few ROMANs know this side of him.
In fact, he is clumsy and can't do any tricks other than juggling.
Gamba Roman
He is always positive and keeps showering words of encouragement on the other ROMANs without any awareness of their feelings, which sometimes annoys the other ROMANs, but he used to be a gloomy ROMAN too and always wanted to change himself. One day, he bought an orange headband from a mysterious ROMAN who was blowing a suspicious smoke, and after putting it on, he became filled with positivity.
He also enthusiastically encourages Bero Bero Man to reform, but when he is deeply drunk, it doesn't matter to him. He always secretly removes his headband after making sure that no one is watching him in his room, and when he does remove it, he always lets out a terrifyingly long sigh.
Because he's exhausted by night because of the headband, he actually finds it surprisingly easy to fall asleep.
Psycho Roman
This ROMAN thinks being a psychopath is cool.
In fact, he is very smart and good at manipulating people, so he sometimes sympathizes with the problems of other Romans and helps them solve them. He thinks that he does this as a way to play with their minds, but once their problems are solved, he is no longer needed and is simply seen as a Roman who provides excellent counseling.
Even though he wants to play with people's minds, he is troubled by the reality that for some reason people leave satisfied, but he still makes an effort every day to be a good psychopath.
The heart he holds in his hand is actually an ocarina, and the soothing music he plays is one of the reasons he is so highly acclaimed.
Fake Smile
This plant thrives on the negative energy that is generated by mocking ROMANs actions and words, making them twisted.
By continuing to distort the personalities of the ROMANs by mocking them from a young age, they have now multiplied in many parts of the world.
Some ROMANs were radical advocates of eradicating this plant and wanted to eradicate it, but in the past, this plant has been able to store energy from such negative emotions and continue to multiply.
On the other hand, some have tried to coexist with the plant in the past, but they all ended up becoming depressed and failed, so now the ROMANs maintain their mental balance by avoiding contact with the plant as much as possible.
They are very sensitive to the ingredients contained in Ganbaroman's headband, but the ROMANs are not aware of this yet.
